This is about 4''x6'' and 11'' tall. I picked it up at a thrift store and they had no idea what it was. ANY help would be MUCH appreciated!

Then you would think that the rack part would be on both sides and more of a "detatchable" handle....

They would have to be VERY small bottles!

Wouldn't the plastic on the handle melt in the dishwasher?

I keep leaning towards some type of utensil or tool holder. The handle gives it a sense of "mobility" rather than just an accented topper. the other things that caught my eye were:
      1. The racks are offset mounted to the base, not DIRECTLY to the handle, leading you to think there was a larger amount of weight on the forked side.
      2. The non "rack" side has two sets of thinner slits that are parallel, like a knife could slip into it.
      3. the handle doesnt seem to be heat resistant, nor does the metal appear to have been tempered/used for a cooking purpose *there is no build up or any "gunk"*

I'm pretty positive it has nothing to do with bottles... bottle carriers have more of a bottom to support the weight of the units, and use crossbars to prevent them from hitting one another. as well... that would not explain the one sided rack. Any idea that has NOTHING to do with bottles?

Original post says it is about 4''x6'' and 11'' tall, so I'm going with flatware caddy. Here's the same shape - knives on the one side, hanging forks and spoons on the other -- http://dyn-images2.hsni.com/is/image/HomeShoppingNetwork/347711_100?icn200
