My wife and I discovered this the pictured pedal car but cannot identify the manufacturer or date it. It appears to be all steel contruction and a very basic car. It is in great working order and has a decal that labels it as "Playful Quality Toys". Any information or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The car was built in the early eighties in Johannesburg, South Africa. Earlier versions were known as Afrikander cars, and after being taken over by Strike Toys (Triang South Africa) became Playful cars. Earlier cars were also built without the "fenders" but the design proved weak, so they were added for rigidity. Your car appears totally original and in very good condition.
