    This 1882 beauty is all original these were made for a short time before Edison figured out how to shorten the coils! Thr Henry Ford said they had never seen one in original paint & neither had Hal Wallace of the Smithsonian Dr. Paul Isreal of Rutgers U. dated it to May of 1882. It's very probable it is the finest one known! She stands just under 6' tall

      At the top of your post you state 1862, lower down you say it's dated to May 1882 ??

      Cool, I like how they dressed up mechanical things in that time period with the paint & pin striping.
