      My father built the Meissner, right after he came home from WWII. The amp perched atop the Fischer FM tuner is one I built when I was in 7th or 8th grade. That was not a kit. It was built from plans published in one of my dad's old radio magazines. I just decided one day that I wanted my own record player and amplifier, and dug around in my dad's junk bin until I came up with all the parts and pieces. The 78 rpm Philco record player has been retired to the "museum" but I still use the amp with the Fischer tuner, when I am downstairs in the "shack".

      Forgot to menton - the VTVM is a Heathkit that I assembled in about 1960-couple.
