I have posted this vase after seeing 'lovedecanters' Webb vase, I have wondered about this vase and if is was attributed to Webb! I think this is 'square' looking down on it, what do you thin lovedecanters? Thank you for your help!

I believe it is Webb. Do a google search (or other search engine of you prefer) on "webb waves vase", and you'll see other examples. "webb wavy vase" will show alternate examples.

Thank you twentiethc I have checked out the Webb wavy vases and can find an identical one in a different colour! : )

This is a Thomas Webb vase. It is from the Gay series of glass vases and this pattern is called Venetian Ripple. It was designed in the 1930s, but continued to be made post war. If you check out my stuff you will see I have a green Venetian Ripple vase of a different shape.

Well vetraio50 there's a result!! That just happens after looking at everyone glass, you spot something and it just clicks!! I have only just bought a black light and not had chance to use it yet (came without batteries, have not got around to buying any yet - live out in the sticks and have to wait until I go to town) Will let you know! Thanks for your time!

Hi! I just got back from an expedition out west and came back with a new UV torch. It occurred to me to have a look at my amethyst one too. The old torch was tiny and two days ago I noted the batteries had gone. I got this one and tried it and low and behold it reacted .... not really strong but it's green as mentioned on the GMB pages. I'm really pleased. The purple is really vibrant on the conical form. I'll bet you'll see something too!
