Hi, I recently bought this solid silver and enamel bracelet at a French Brocante - the dealer thought it might be German, however, I think it may be a vintage Mexican Modernist piece. It weighs approx. 25 grams.
There are some stamps on the clasp and bracelet but these are too small to decipher without a magnifying glass! Any further information regarding the origins of this piece would be very helpful.
Thanks for looking - KT
Wow really pretty. Hoping our jewelry experts weigh in as I am curious too!
Love it!
Or take a a short distance photo through the lens of a magnifier.
Whoops - more used to UK weights - actually think the bracelet weighs about 55+grams!
Definitely not Mexican, this is from Scandinavia, either Denmark or Norway. Those countries are very well-known for Modernist/sterling/enamel jewelry like this, and its very characteristic. You would be able to read Mexican marks without a magnifying glass, and they never used those tiny rectangular cartouches I see on the clasp. It would have an eagle stamp and a "HECHO EN MEXICO" in a circle around "925".
So anyway, either Denmark or Norway. Borrow a magnifying glass from someone, see what the cartouches say
The clasp does not look Mexican, so I'm with Stillwater - it's European.
