    This is not a porcelain piece, more like paper mache. clothing appears to be hand made. Has a small circular sticker on the bottom of his shoe that says Made In Germany.
    I assumed it was made by Hummel but I cant find anything like it.

      Hi Ron did you happen to look on back of his neck to see if marked Hummel ?
      I believe it is a early Hummel doll called "Little Hiker " Look at back of his neck ok and let me know what you see .

      He could be Hansel also . Look at seams in clothes also for a hummel tag

      another one . To date them it is by body type . The earliest was called little Hiker however I believe he had cloth legs . Yours is a light weight rubber that gets hard after so long oftem mistaken for paper mache

      I did inspect the neck and you are 100% right it is a Hummel. I didnt know they made dolls.
      There is some other kinds of markings besides Hummel. If you would like to see them I will photo them for you.

      I would think it maybe a Bee inside a V marking ? :-)
