Silver Plate 1897 Whiskey Flask. Having fancy engraved "Dry As A Fish Out Of Water" above a high relief leaping trout with engraved cattails below. Around the edge of the flask is a ribbed band of embossed grapes, vines and leaves making a very handsome flask. From internet The fish flask has no cap, The leather silver plate is James Dixon and Sons, Sheffield Eng. Business started in 1806 and started electroplating in 1848. I do not know where the fish one was made. Thanks for looking!
The "and Sons" was added at some time & may help you with dating it. Easy search.
Thanks!
I has this flask with the cap. It has engraved on the back Otis Howe from Little Mother. Do you have anymore information on this flask?
