    Does anybody have any history on this vase with elephant head handles on both sides. It is approximately twelve inches tall and sits on a signed stand. Once I was told by a dealer that it was made out of walrus tooth not a composite of sorts. I purchased it in western New York in 2003. I am trying to find out any history on this vase.It is truly lovely to look at.

      Nahh, I don't think they're Italian. That little stand is Chinese, and the elephant is a very common Chinese motif. I was thinking ivory when I first saw the thumbnail photo, but it looks like molded resin.

      JWendell, I just took a look at yours, you think those marks are Italian?... Did you upload the wrong photos or something? They're very clearly oriental characters
