I just got this Porcelain Dutch Boy Multi-piece sign. It is AMAZING! I am guessing that it is from the thirties but maybe before, or into the fourties. There are no maker markings so I don't know what year it was made. Would anyone know about when it is from? If you might know contact me at bigdaddydave at man-cave-shoppe dot com for a email and don't forget the dashes.
It is a little under 12 feet long and almost 4 feet tall at the center section and it has 2 parts that stick out from the sign about 4 inches for the bottom pieces and 2 inches for the red lettering.
There are a total of 7 different porcelained pieces that are held together by factory bolts, brackets to hold the 3D pieces and metal frame pieces in the back.
Condition is probably a solid 8 out of 10. There are some chips in the red lettering and in a very few places on the white back field. The blue and white bottom seems to have no chipping nor does the center section where the boy is pictured.
I am gently cleaning it and will be waxing it and looking at it with a smile!

This same sign is in Tipton, Indiana and is still on the building.

Heya Chevy59- If the one your talking about is this one on this page, http://www.agilitynut.com/signs/in3.html , it is similar but there are major differences.
I have found out quite a bit more about my sign.
It was made in the early 1930s and possibly in the 1920s and it has no makers marks, so that leads me to believe that it was apart of the first run made of these signs because I saw a matching center piece that had a makers marks around his wooden shoes.
The sign in the link above is from the 40-50s. The 3D on that sign is only about 1"- 2" off the white field behind the red letters, if at all, where mine is almost 4" off of the white field behind it.
The blue and white on the bottom pieces looks similar and by the picture, it looks to stick out almost 4" like mine.
The colors of the Dutch Boy are different. Mine- He has a darker outfit on and I think there is 1 or 2 more colors of porcelain. There is also the writing around him on mine that is not on that one in Tipton.
I found out that the company tried to destroy these signs because of the word "LEAD" in the writing above his head. It only make sence because of the negative stigma and they wanted to sepperate the company branding away from lead. They replaced and destroyed almost all of them and that is why I had such a hard time finding out info on this one.
This sign might actually qualify as "rare" because after all my research, I believe that there are less than 20 COMPLETE copies of this sign left in the world and I think there might even be less than 10.
I talked to Him (the Dutch Boy) the other day and he said to make sure to say thanx for all the Love!!!!!!
