http://www.javiernino.com/ Mural Puerto Vallarta Airport, 2nd photo! HELLO! I bought this in early 70's, I was maybe 23-24 yr. old, so he was 18-20 yr. old. I liked it so I bought it. I was traveling Mexico in a VW Bug convertible, camping in tent and fishing. I looked up his name just about 2 years ago and was surprised to read he is quite famous!! I emailed him and told him I had a painting from early 70's! He emailed back and said "where did you purchase?" and "what is it of?" I emailed back "I bought under the bridge, next to the river from a boy around 12-13 yr. old, and it is boy on donkey crossing river" He emailed back "THAT IS MY PAINTING!" "Please send photo of it" I emailed this photo and he had it on his website cover for 6 m0. or more! He just had a show last Oct. in Chicago. He emailed me and invited me, but alas I am poor, I thanked him and mailed him a Chicago Baseball Cap to wear in Puerta Vallarta before he left. I would like to vuy another from him but alas I am poor! Thanks for looking!! Don

In the middle 80's I was in Puerto Vallarta and stayed at old Hotel Ocean, still some charm! Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton stayed there some filming Night of the Iguana, which put Puerta Vallarta on the map! The old Hotel Oceana had a small swimming pool on the roof!

Fantastic story. Before I read the caption I thought it was Mexico. My daughter is an artist that lives just north of Puerta Villarta in a little town named La Cruz.

Do you still own this painting by Javier Niño? I live in Puerto Vallarta and a new museum is preparing an installation on the "founders" of Puerto Vallarta art with several of Javier Niño paintings included. They may be interested in asking you to lend the piece for a few months?
