An urn shaped decanter in grey and amber. It is 12.5 inches high.

I bought this off eBay last year. It is better in real life than it was on eBay or these pictures. It is really light a delicate, and as a decanter it can hold about one large glass of wine. In the 1770s there was a short period when urn shaped decanters were in fashion for liquers and maybe it is intended for that. It is a well made quality item.

Any assistance in identifying this beauty would be greatly appreciated.

It does remind me a lot of some Orrefors decanter from the mid 20s, although I cannot tell if this is made or not by Orrefors. Great shape!

Hi! I have a drawing of a decanter, signed KB 1931, after my grandfather Knut Bergqvist in Lindefors. It has the same basic shape but some details differ from this. The stopper and the lower party before the foot. The stopper in Knuts decanter is rounder and without the "twisted" detals. The lower party is cutted and have not the "twisted details either. Otherwise very similar to this decanter in form. The "twisted" details indicates "glassblowers joy" and maybe it can be a decanter from Lindefors 1929-31, designed and blowed by Knut Bergqvist? But this is only a possibility among others. What I can say for sure is that Knut Bergqvists drawing is quite similar to your decanter in basic shape.
      Nils/
