I collect Franklin Mint model cars that I used to own the real car of, but no longer have. The first picture is the Franklin Mint model. The second photo is the actual car back in 1977. I did a Google search on the VIN number of this car and found it for sale on the internet a few years back. It was still on the road after 36 years!
I still have one of these in my driveway, thanks for sharing.
I noticed to one I refered to in earlier comment, can be seen in the back ground of photo #@ at one of my earlier posting:

I see it in the background. It's not real clear though. Is it a black 1977? Have you had it a long time?
Yes it's 77 Black and Gold edition, Bought it in 1979 or 80, not sure if the later part of the year or first part of 80
I've got the honey comb wheels and the back window louvers also, 6.6 Ta marking (400 ci)
I only had mine for a couple of years. Bought it new and then sold it for something else. I really did find it on the Internet 36 years later searching the VIN number. It was like finding an old friend! I have found several of my old cars doing that. Only works when the VIN is included in the ad description. I must have too much time on my hands!
I know the feeling, The one I regret letting go was a 69 Judge GTO, I brought it back where I live now after getting out of the USMC and also had 67 Vette, had to make a choice back then as which to keep, in hind-sight should have kept the Goat
I remember when this model came over to England , we would all get on our bikes and go to local gm dealer in Manchester , on display was this model , a Cadillac Fleetwood , a corvette 78 pace car and a two tone Chevy caprice classic in silver and black , on seeing these cars my love for american cars began .
