What I was told was that this was an old cobblers bench for working on shoes. Any ideas of what it is, how old and its worth?

I HAD ONE ALMOST LIKE THIS ONE AND FOUND OUT AFTER I SOLD IT THAT IT WAS USED FOR HAND STICHING BASEBALLS AND USUALLY FOUND UP IN THE COOPERSTOWN AREA IN N.Y. I BELIEVE WE GOOGLED BASEBALL STICHING. THE ONE I HAD HAD A FOOT PEDAL TO TIGHTEN THE JAWS. HOPE THIS HELPS. WISH I STILL HAD IT.
I have always heard these referred to as Saddle Makers benches, a Cobblers bench is a little different. The reference to making baseballs is a new one to me.
