Greetings: I am sharing an outstanding architectural tile (18" x 14"). It was made by the Charles Pickman Ceramic Factory (Seville) established in 1841. In addition to the impressed mark in the 4th picture there is a wonderful certificate glued to the reverse. The certificate states all of the following: Fabrica de Porcelana China Opaca y Loza de Pedernal a la Inglesa Prusiana y Francesa en la Cartuja De Sevilla, Londres 1862, Viena 1873, Paris 1878, Filadelfia 1876, Barcelona 1888, "Gran Medalla de Oro". In addition, typed on the certificate in old typing, "M. L. Solon, Expo". Apparently, the tile was modeled after Marc-Louis Solon (1835-1913), a Frenchman of Sevres/Minton fame, renowned for his pate-sur-pate ceramics.
Is beautiful
