Another item I found at good will. No chips, nicks, cracks. But the color of the stamp throws me off. Is this just a reproduction?

Thanks, I went to the site and saw the repro or reissues whatever you call them. But how do I see the back stamp of them? The only thing that confuses me is I sent some website a pic and they said they were reproduction so I don't know how much they actually knew. They said the writing gives the date when they were made is that true? Could they possibly be a vintage reproduction? Like they're a reissue but maybe from the 80's or something?

I'm sorry it's just so confusing. Why does this saucer say Y6670 80,nothing on the cup but on that site says the pattern # is 6470. I really do appreciate it though.

What do the other two marks on either side say?

This is supposed to be a place to answer all questions . I read somewhere that the saucer has certain marks not found on cups. May be a date stamp . Try submitting to this link and see what happens. Good luck!

I think it's just a reissue from like the 80's bc the markings are all wrong. The green "1 Spode BONE CHINA ENGLAND" looks to be underneath the glaze. The pink SPODES IRENE looks to be on top of it. And there's some other pink mark I ant read looks like a circle 12 maybe? And the orange is also underneath the glaze and that says y 6470 underneath that 80.... Then on the cup same green, same pink, but there's a D8 on the side and in orange is a sloppy written y 6470 with an 8 under it. Again orange and green underneath the glaze and the pink is painted on top of it. And the greens letters don't look the same to me.

According to replacements, the Irene pattern was made between 1953-71. Some of the website showing a marks are only showing the antique marks. I don't know much about Spode but I know that other companies use the same cup body, fire them as blanks with their stamp, then refire after the hand painting is done and the pattern name added.Maybe this is why it has the two marks?

PS. As yours doesn't have the Copeland name on the mark, it was made after 1966.
