I found this little vase this week. The fish is quite full of the dickens, the glass seems Scandinavian BUT I cannot read this signature. Any deciphering help would be appreciated. We are having a pool at the house for everyone's guesses, and I promised I wouldn't taint the proceedings.
Thank you!!!
Momborgsky?
Wow that link looks so similar. Thanks!
What about this works for you Eye? I like how bright the glass is...

Eye4, see you totally know your stuff. Happy to gift this to you, you obviously love it.
It is super thick and heavy plus it really glows...if you know what I mean.
I can send it to the same way as last time, unless you feel more comfortable in another way...
I should be eating something delightful now...dang it!!!
Dude, you know I love giving things to people who are in love with a piece. It is meant for you. I enjoy the love connection. I don't have that connection. It is easy and delightful for me to give to you.
Well it is never too late to learn and grow. Life is a journey. You have learned many things, that lead you to this point and expression in life. When I was 12, my Mom converted the family to Buddhism. It didn't match with the Irish community we lived in, we grew, we learned and now I blend both for my kiddos. I like realizing how everything happens the way it should. Look how many friends you have met, created. Would that have happened before? Maybe, but maybe the people you should meet, wouldn't be ready for you. Matrix of friendship and love.
That is so nice Eye4. I am on the super hunt for Kokeshi Dolls. You can see a few of my finds in my history. If you could keep an eye out and pick up for me that would be wonderful. We are transitioning around our house and I am not sure what is in or out glass wise. Oh don't pay more than 5 bucks!
I do need to post that fish!!! I love him and he is sitting (swimming) right next to our fish tank.
Apparently I am amusing you today ; ))
Some say Hoot other say smart ass ; ))
Another beaut !! And that's smart ass in a good way of course !
Hi, I think this vase is of Asta Stromberg design, maybe Gerda Stromberg? It looks not like a Nylund vase in my eyes. Gerda Stromberg have several models in similar shapes, an Asta renewed them from late 1940s. If it's model B882 (like in one of the links above), I think it's Asta and late 1950s. Gerda Strombergs models end about B420-B430, and Nylund vases have not so traditional shapes but more curved and bold shapes. The engraving pattern must be drawed by Gerda Stromberg. I don't find the exactly similar fish pattern, but mostly similar fishes you can find between engraving numbers C 284 and C385. I have a catalog from early 1940's and there is only engravings by Gerda Stromberg. Numbers ends there with C315. I know also that Nylunds engravings begins about number C450, you can se that on the style of the patterns/motives, and also on a vase that my father attributed as the first model and engraving pattern Nylund did for Strombergshyttan, model B601 engraving pattern C454 (a clearly thinner vase than Asta Strombergs models and with typical Nylund motif consisting of two African giraffes). I don,t think Asta drawed engraving patterns before late 1940s and I think this must be from early 1940s.
Edit: ...this must be from not later than early 1940s, maybe 1930s?
Such a pity I was out on a trip... I would have been the first to scream "It's an amazing Strömbergshyttan vase!!!" :)
Austria, how was your trip?
Great, the opening was big fun and we had a great time with my and his friends... and there was a delicious huge paella for 14!!!
The only bad thing about it... when you go to one of the sunniest cities in Spain you don't expect to have rain almost everyday and get a cold! :)
SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
