I tried to post the black & gold vases they have pheasents & dragons on them done in 24 karat gold. Ruffled rim can anyone please tell me what the marks stand for at least as it would be a great help. Thank you Zowie.
Hi Zowie! These marks are upside down. I'm pressing the I LOVE IT in the hope that I am going to love the pieces when we see it. It sounds great!
These are Ming Dynasty marks.
The reign marks are same as porcelain marks so check here:

Hsuan-Te
Xuande
1426 - 1435.
Believe it or not.
These marks do not guarantee that it is from that period.
Notorious were and are the Chinese for reproducing earlier works and putting early marks on them as well/
Only an expert will be able to confirm the date.
But you are one step further along the road......
Thank you Bellin68 for getting back to me so promptly , I hope 1 day I can do the same favour. Your knowledge is very helpful as I have been told I do have the eye for items. In this case they do-not belong to me I also am doing someone a favour. I am a big beleiver that what goes around comes around in 1 way or another. I will take your advise & go over to post after this has been addressed & I thank you. I also read that the Chinese/Japanese didn't start to mark the metals untill the early 19th Centerury it could be wrong. Again thank you for being so prompt in your knowledge
My apologies Zowie, I forgot to hit the button!
