I also use it to tell if a stone is a garnet or ruby! Wow do rubies light up. I use it for other test also. I use it on myself, and saw a spot on my leg and had surgery twice to get rid of skin cancer. The headband glasses I do not know history of them. If you rub coffee on your face it will light up also!! So if you go dancing where there is black lights, put coffee on your face and stand out from the crowd! Oh I believe the case is bakelite!
