3" sq., heavy plate with the silver plating scraped off the center bar for scripted initials (hard to read, very flowery) looks like PKY(or S). Found a shirt online from 1851 for this fire co.-only reference I have found-any info would be great! Thanks, Philip

The engraving looks like 19th century. I agree on the first two initials on the central name-- could be an "I" and he was a Junior.

Additionally, I am not sure what the later "le" on the end of Missippi was supposed to signify.

The brass "loops" on the back would make me believe it was significantly later than 1850s. My first thought was that they were later additions, but they appear to have been there for a while.

      Neat item.

Hey Scott--yeah, the added "le" is odd, a perfect continuation of the script..this is prob a parade buckle-woudn't have thought there was much money in Miss. for this kind of stuff..I've got some more ?? to put up-do like getting the different viewpoints. Thanks, Philip
