HUDSON Copper POOCH Figurine--Any info. on this Company?

I saw a similar all Pewter dog figurine on eBay but it had different markings underneath. When I googled the "HUDSON" name I saw that it had been taken over by the Lance Co. in 1978. There is nothing to be found on the net about the Hudson Company itself; like, "when it was established, where" etc.. The markings on this scrawny dog is "HUDSON, Pewter" so I imagine that some were clad in Copper, like mine. It weighs over 1 lb and measures 5 1/2" long. Any info. appreciated!! RER (BOB) LOUMANAL
