possible a chess piece

this is not made of wook or stone but hard only have 1 it was in my husbands home when we married he has no idea where it came from or what it is it is near or over 40 years old he is of oriental desent and only 2 inches high base is 1 inch any thought on what he is is itjust a individual piece or does he go with a set any thought will be very appreciated
