    This is a vintage heavy black bakelite Art Deco desk phone with a chrome dial. It measures approximately 8 1/2" (21.6 cm) from front to back, 5 1/2" (14 cm) wide, & it is about 5 1/2" (14 cm) tall with the headset in place. It weighs 5lbs 13.6oz (2.65 kg).

      collectibles, your Bakelite desk phone type 40 was manufactured by Automatic Electric Co. of Chicago, Ill. It was first introduced in 1934 and came in various colors (Orchid, Nile green, Old Ivory, Royal Blue, and Black).
