The 2nd AA Div badge depicts a witch on a broom stick, the motto "We sweep the skies". The Division was formed on 10 December 1936 from TA units based in the Midlands and North. Its original area of responsibility was north west from a line from Harwich to the Solent. It was later made responsible for the defence of the East Midlands and North-East Anglia, it was disbanded in October 1942.
The remains of the witch can be seen over the red/blue flash of the Royal Artillery, around this is a heavy sand textured repaint. The helmet is dated 1939 & made by E.C.&Co, the liner by VERO & dated 1938.
