Hi, I also have a sycee that I can't find any information about.

      What are these used for?

nldionne, they're 19th century Chinese silver ingots. These are faked a lot though, if I had one I'd test it with acid

What kind of info are you guys looking for? You already know what they are, so I guess you want to translate the characters? You'll have to scan through a list of Mandarin until you find the ones on the ingot, and then translate them using Google Translate. Not easy, but that's the way I research oriental antiques.

I wouldn't be counting on random people to be jumping at the chance to take the trouble and email you a free appraisal though, doing research is the responsibility of the owner. There's a ton of information about sycee ingots online, and I even found several with the same marks as yours with a quick Google Image search. Give it a try, see what you can find out. Its a lot of fun
