Great grannies amethyst

A beautiful a amethyst
Was my great grandmothers & has been passed to my mom
Down to me. I'm not sure it's real age or size.
It is quite large for a amethyst. I have a friend that is a goldsmith so
I asked him to put it on a chain of white gold. It was originally in yellow
Gold and had a small crack that is now covered. It's a lovely hair loom &
I will pass it on to my daughter as well. I love this piece the most of all . It's simple and lovely.
