Got this at a military estate sale this weekend; was in a box with three coins among the veterans field gear. Handmade with needlework art, unknown origin or type of hat. Three German coins were pro sealed as shown, no other coins in the estate sale. Any clue?
Guessing it's an antique Jewish Childs Kipah Yarmulke Skullcap; but unsure of country of origin or if that is correct. Old well worn?
Thanks Manikin, Lissa-D and Mustangtony.
Tubeteika = Uzbek skull cap, would be my guess.
Been reading about hats and MawamaMama is probably right. In 1932, Hitler was given the name Abu Ali in Syria, and Muhammad Haidar in Egypt. Hitler had several all-Muslim SS divisions that were found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity for mass murder of hundreds of thousands of Islamic women and children to convert Arab males to the ideology of a German rule over a Mohammedan Empire. Childs Tubeteika = Uzbek skull cap, does fit with Nazi coins.
