This is a little painting my father got as a present in the 50's. The story goes that a local artist had a cat with a litter of kittens, and she tried very hard to find good homes for the little ones. My father felt compelled to take one, and as a thank you, the woman gave him the small painting.

Your father sounds like a kind man! I am sure that the owner of this painting was pleased to have the kitten go with him.
