I know very little about this lure. Bought it a few years ago. Anyone else have one ??. Seems to be made of brass. Stamped Hamilton Eng. Co. Inc. Mass.

Who would think a mermaid for a lure.

That is the coolest lure I ever saw . Wow thanks for sharing her .

I have seen some new ones on ebay, but not nearly as nice as this one. This one also seems to have some age to it. I had to change the hook as it rusted away, obviously it has been used in saltwater by some brave soul ! . Glad you like it.

It's a nice Advertizing item! I don't think they made the lure....did you research this Engineering company in Ipswich, Mass? RER (BOB)

Hej Loumanal ( Bob?) , yes I tried to find the Engineering Co. but without success. You may well be right and it was a Advertising item, still sort of cool though . Maybe one day I will try and catch a few Cod with it (: . Thanks everyone for their comments. Lee

I was lucky enough to find a MIB mermaid lure like yours, but all brass. It has a card tag that says, "You don't have to be a fish to get hooked by the quality and service that is a must at - Hamilton Engineering Co., INC. 121 High Street IPSWICH, MASS. 01938
      356-5153
      TOOLS - DIES - PROTOTYPES

The lure is also stamped with some of the same info.

Hej Fishfin, thanks for info. Loumanal was right then about it being a Advertising item. The M.D. of Hamilton Eng. Co. must have been a fishing nut! -the best kind of nut eh 'Fishfin' !! (: . Mine has been used and Card long gone, so congrats. on your 'complete' Mermaid (: . Thanks for letting me know the origins of my little lady . We have the famous (?) 'Little Mermaid' here in Denmark - she is not much bigger than our Mermaids !! (: (: . Be Lucky , Lee

Hello Lee - Would that be Denmark, the country? We have a 'Denmark, Maine' USA 15 miles from here. I posted some pics of the mermaid with her card - had to start a 'new project' to add pictures. You are lucky! You can use yours because it has already been used... Would be interested to know what the 'in-water-action' is like!

fishfin, I would say Maine. Its really cool looking and a great score!!! I love mermaids!!

Hej Fishfin, yes Denmark ( Danmark ) the country ( near Sweden, Norway and Germany - over 'there' in Europe !! (: (: ). I am English but have lived here in DK the best part of 30 years. It is not the most 'agile' lure in the Water, but as fish are a bit thick it can still catch the odd fish or two !!. If I ever loose mine to a giant 30kg. cod I will let you know ! (: .Lee

      Moonstonelover21 - does Maine also have a 'famous' Lille Havfrue ?? ( Little Mermaid ) (: Noooooooooooooooooooooooo
