This is an amazing ring that I love...and I love Opals! This was a find!!! I love big rings and this was bigger than I thought. This beauty measures 7.5 grams and is solid 10k Rose Gold. The top measures 21mm x 16mm x 8mm high.
The size of it! What a chunk! The Fire!
vetraio50, I know!!! I could not believe it after I got it!!! At first I thought it was faux or glass Opal. Until I took it to the store for Cliff the Gemologist to take a look at the stone. What kind of Opal would you say it is? And where do you think it came from? I have no idea :0 When I wear it..the top is to big it slips to one side all the time...
Just beautiful ! I love love it !
Manikin, thank you !!!
The color is amazing!
AmberRose, the colour is soo cool and when you look at it..the colours make you happy :) I am an Opal nut!
valentino97, I am collecting Opals for my youngest daughter Bella...she is the happiest 5 year old..always smiling :)
Alfredo, you do have a matching pendant? Let me know...if you ever want to part with it or do a trade! Contact me at maryaroch@yahoo.com if you are interested in ever trading. Do you know where she got it?
Alfredo, how fun that would be to go a Show and look around! I love to search and discover! That's how I learned from hit and miss way back when. You are very blessed to have done that with your sister! Those times will never be lost :)
I am soo sorry! I too have an obsession with Opals for years! My daughter who is 5 is a Libra (Oct 12th) Her S%@&^ donor is a Libra( Oct 17th?) And I have written him off as dead beat! So I, in a way have a strange month of feelings in October and feel like there is a partial death that has taken place. Very uncomfortable month for me. He walked out when she was only 2-3 months old. I send out my sympathies to you and your family. Thank you for sharing.
Alfredo, wow...I would hate to loose an Opal....that would not be good for me :)
Moonstonelover21 I to am single mom and my son is 2 dont you love those deadbeat dads out there! Its ridiculous !but I have such a respect for single moms raising their children we moms are all are stronger for it! Love this opal ring its amazing and its nice that us girls have jewels to make us feel better! Who needs men when you got rocks right!
Looks to me like and Opal from Colorado, Clear see thru.. with a Brown Milky Quartz, It is a Beauty............keep it moist.. because opals Brake easy.
Spray water, often..
I keep my raw opals in water..
I love them.
Congratulations!
Patricia
vintagejewel, Thank you for all your kind words...I needed a pick me up today :) I agree we are stronger for it and now I have a full head of chest hair to show for it. I think I buy jewels to leave for my daughters as a heirloom gift that I know will always increase in value. So if needed this would pay for College that I know they won't or can't pay for. I feel like this is all I am able to leave to them. I hope we can meet sometime in the near future :) I live in Redondo Beach and willing to travel ")
VintageArtJewelery, thank you for the update! I will look into more opals from that area!! In water...I use mineral oil on all my porous gemstones even cameo's and turquoise pieces...that locks in the moisture I was told...let me know your thoughts...Lee
If you are going to wear this Opal Ring ,, is better to get Porfessional coating for Opals, check with your Jeweler he will know which coat to use... Opals are very fragil.. I use My father Earrings once in while, and Yes! I did got them fix with a Coat of some Oil, not remember the name. , the Jeweler advise me to do it.
Check it out,,, is worth to protect the opal...
Chers!
Patricia
bratjdd, thank you for the loving xoxoxoxo
OOPS missed this, stunning!! XXOOXX
kerry10456, thank you for the comment xoxoxoxo
this looks like one of the most beautiful 'american' opals i've ever seen. american opals can be either from the usa or mexico. in general, they are inferior to australian opals, but this is exceptional. [but i am NOT an expert in this area!]
oops! i didn't mean to post that twice. the reasons why this is such a nice piece is the size, color, and distribution of the different colors inside it. [i forgot the name of the reflecting colors inside opals]
the sheets of color are called 'flashes'. this opal has excellent flash - particularly the green flash. the orangeish transclucence is what makes me think that it is an american opal.
VintageArtJewelry, I am about to take it and have it coated ...to protect it...thank you xoxoxoxo
ho2cultcha, I believe it is American also...Deco era and do you think its gem quality?
Ton's of FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!! I Love it !!!!
