Early 1980's is when Timex started "Quartz" style movements.
Thanks for sharing your timepieces, I'm slowly making my way through them, lol. I guess better slow, than hurring thru them and missing something.

Timex began using a 2 postion alphanumeric code stamped into the case back in 1985. This system is still in use. You will see the #39 on the one pictures. That dates your watch to March 1988.

Hi, i have one of these watches, it hasnt been used in around 10 years and the battery wasnt removed until recently. A new battery was tried but the watch didnt work. Are they easy to repair / replace?? Thanks

@magnum the battery is most likely the issue. I recently got mine replaced by a local specialist because I am just getting into watches. Or it may be the actual parts. Best bet in my opinion is probably the battery and make sure it is the correcr battery, the battery size may be the issue. Mine I believe is a 387. Good luck.

On topic: Sorry for being late with this post. The stamp is a code to the making of the watch. What I am referring to is the month and year of it's making. There is a wikipedia page with the codes to its making. Good luck and if anything else comes up regarding this watch please feel free to message me.
