I made this garden sculpture a few years ago w/ a large mercury glass globe i found and some kind of stand i found at the dump along w/ a very heavy, old plumb bob. it stands around 7 ft tall in a native garden i designed for a home made from a rehabbed farmhouse in the Hayward Hills.
Your stand is an old kitchen pot stand! graduating from large at the post to small at the top, I have one and keep pot plants on it.....:-)
thank you bellin68 and inky. so that's what it is? a kitchen pot stand? i don't quite get it, although i'm sure i just need to see one in action... do you have pics?
Sorry! maybe if I said different graduating sizes of.. lidded cooking pans, does that help?..I will try and get a few on mine later and do a demo to for you...:-)
that would be great. i'm a little slow sometimes and need to get a visual in order to understand stuff.
I found these for you, much better than my odd assortment!...:-)

Sorry! yours is further down near the bottom.
Well done Inky, never heard of such a thing.
I've already learnt something new today, may as well go back to bed. :-)
Nice arrangement, h02!
thank you inky. now i get it. this one is pretty old. what do the old ones sell for? [out of curiosity because i sold this one about 3-4 yrs ago]
My pleasure .....It's probably best you don't know...but if you do need to know that first link has yours on it with price....:-)
i couldn't figure out what the price for the stand was. the prices i see are for lots of copperware, but i don't see the stand?? am i blind?
About a third of the way down just after the pans is your stand...yours looks to be an eight, were these are six a nine and a ten...:-)

thank you so much inky. you actually helped me solve a couple other kitchen riddles i have kicking around.
I love looking at and researching "stuff"...so it was absolutely my pleasure...:-)
inky is good and i love reading searching the threads -- just a warning if this is or has mercury in it -- take care if it should break so as not to do harm to yourself or the environment
