Once more I am bringng you some of the items I grew up with: the amazing naughty friar and naughty nun salt & pepper shakers!

They were some of the top seller souvenirs in the Spain of the 1960s and 1970s, or at least I remember seeing them all over Spain when I was a kid. I also remember our neighbours downstairs had their own set, but their nun wore dark habits... which means I like ours the best.

I quite liked these and even if i didn't play with them, I guess that at some point I wished I had my own monastry of naughty shakers, all with different habits and probablu more monks than nuns...

I have seen simmilar friar shakers being made in Germany... so thee's always the doubt about who made them first. In any case, so far I haven't seen nun shakers so that gives Spain one point.

Not sure... the nun has got a chip on the top of her head and it is white in the inside... plaster??? :/ or maybe a kind of white clay
