This is a barometer set in a polished Cornish serpentine roundel. Probably Edwardian or 1920s.
It's about a foot across and weighs a ton, so I used a nice long screw to hang it on so it didn't pull the plaster off the wall.
We went on holiday to the north of England to tour Hadrians Wall and bought this in an antiques centre. Strange really as it would originally have been a souvenir from the most southerly point in England.
