LS&MS Ry railroad lantern made by Parmelee & Bonnell in Buffalo, NY. This lantern bears two 1871 P&B patent dates. The lid is embossed with LS&MS Ry in serifs, characteristic of early P&B markings. The flashed ruby globe is an oddball, having a no. 2 base, and a ring at the top. It was made exclusively for this scarce lantern model, and nicely embossed LS&MS Ry in serifs, exactly matching the lid embossing.
