Hello. Lately I have been helping my grandmother go through all of her jewelry. See cant see really well, so I guess she trusts me to help her. Every once in awhile I can take something home to post on CW :). I think this was my great grandmothers. Not sure, based on the year, it doesn't make sense. Can anyone else help ID this? I am thinking:

Birmingham 1911 Horton and Allday. Really beautifully hallmarked. I am happy I found this for her. She doesn't seem to remember whose this is. Thanks!!!

Its lovely. Its a shame the history's lost. Its the same with my mothers things, she's not always able to tell me where she got them or how she came by them.

The hall marks are great on this, so easy to read, compared to some.

Hmm they maybe easy to read, i think crown for british gold (i guess 18k) and sideways anchor, also for Birmingham, makers mark H&A, but i can't find what date it is.
      Do you know?
I can see its an 'm' but can't find one to match..it seems there's always something thats not straight forward.

It doesn't look quite the same as the 1911 mark, your letter stamp looks like it has a straight edge with the corners missing.
ive heard they do get stamps wrong occasionally, i have an Avon highest honour pin badge date stamped 1938, i even emailed the Birmingham assay office with pictures and they agreed 1938, but thats impossible, the Avon name didnt start until (as far as I've been able to find out) the '40s, so it can't be right!
I wonder if they're stamped wrong they're worth more, like an upside down stamp etc.?
I'd be interested to know if you find out its date.

hmmmmmm....not sure if this is Horton & Allday after all. I will have to check my books, The "H A" is different than yours. I would say it is 1911, it looks like the used the same icon for all of the marks on this ring. It makes sense according to the history of the ring too. THanks for looking vintagefran!
