This 1929 Rene Lalique Sans Adieu Perfume Bottle is just a little over 2.5 " high. I came across it in a box of bottles that had been dug up from a bottle tip. As it is not what I would expect from R. Lalique I guess that nobody had turned it upside down and read the inscription. A very lucky find and one that will probably never happen to me again!! It is very small and sweet and obviously lost its label a long time ago. It has the number 502 inscribed on the bottom of the bottle and also the bottom of the stopper which indicates that they belong together. Hope you like it!!

This is truly a gorgeous flacon! It is not for nothing that it is one of the holy grails of perfume bottle collecting. We used to have a major perfume collector onboard at CW. He has since departed. One day, we were musing over the perfection of the early Lalique flacons for Les Parfums Worth, and we both regreted how the recent reproduction by Lalique of Sans Adieu falls far short of the early glory. It was a couple of years ago -- I think -- that I saw the newly issued "Sans Adieu" adaptation of Rene Lalique's original design. It left me quite cold, while I get dizzy just looking at this little flacon. Tried to find a photo of the repro, but couldn't. I did see that one had once retailed at Saks Fifth Avenue for $3,500.00USA. (The number 0400744087310 appeared next to the price.) In fact, Saks might be where I first saw it. I celebrate your good fortune and good taste! I bet this is exquisite when placed in a window frame, when the sun starts to decline. : D

Thank you all for the Loves and great comments, especially miKKoChristmas for the most interesting of comments, I have looked at your link and know exactly what you mean!!! I thank you for your time and effort on behalf of this little diamond of a flacon! (new word for me!) That feeling when doing a retake on what I was looking at and what I was holding was wonderful, I know I will never find another in such a circumstance of being the only one who realised what it was!

Thank you everyone for the Loves and great comments!! Valentino97 - bottle tips were used many years ago before household refuse collections were done. Most people had a place to bury their waste, be it on their own property or a communal one. Hence in recent times people have dug up these tips and found old and interesting bottles. I believe that Health and Safety have finally put a stop to it as it could be quite dangerous. There was an Antiques roadshow on television just this past week were a chap had many old poison bottles which he had found. One was coffin shaped and was worth over £20,000!! I am not stating that this is where this little bottle came from, just that when I found it - it was in a box with vintage bottles that had obviously been dug up in the past!

A great fine. Did you know the original 1929,
Sans Adieu (no good-byes) perfume bottle has been enlarged
to accent it's rich green color and deco styling. Hold on to you
seats ....the new one is 14" high. In 2010, to celebrate the
150th anniversary of René Lalique’s birth in 1860,
LALIQUE created the “Hommage à René Lalique” collection.
In this collection, Lalique re-examines and
reinterprets iconic glass creations of Rene Lalique.
This 14" XXL bottle can be used as a water decanter,
a wine decanter or even giant perfume bottle. It is now made
with lead crystal, original was made from glass
Lalique model number 10108300, retail is now $4,200,

Thank you so much Papas-GEMS for stopping by and taking the time to part with your very interesting information!! I am sure this 14" perfume bottle is something to behold but I think I would still prefer my little gem! I still have it, but tend to keep it shut away for fear of damage, I would hate to be responsible for any mishap after all of the years it has survived unscathed!! Many thanks once again!
