Found this today for 3.99. Is signed Hullow. I found a Warren Hullow from Hickory Grove Studios in Pennsylvania. So far that's all I have been able to come up with.

I think they were doing acid out there at hickory cove. Some strange stuff. But I have been told strange is good in the collector world!

This is interesting. I'll watch for Eye's conclusions. He really is a great detective.

Thanks AmberRose. Sorry I missed your comment last night we were on a roll finding this guy. Eye worked his magic again. Looks like I may have stumbled onto something in Grandma's Country Attic.

Good Morning Sunshine. Using up the rest of your alloted 17 hours I see. Shot signature off to Los Angeles County Museum of Art to see what they have to say. They supposedly have some of his work. We'll see if I get any info from them. Wonder if this is worth anything?

    31. nldionne nldionne, 12 years ago
Yes it is. The more we found yesterday the more excited I got. Eye is fun to research with. I can't believe he even found a newspaper article from 1969.

Hi guys, I'm the one who has this listing on Etsy that you linked to--> https://www.etsy.com/listing/125971932/signed-parks-stoneware-drip-glaze

I actually found both of those pieces together at a thrift shop the other day. I did a ton of internet research like you guys and found three or four other Isabel Parks signatures that look similar to the ones on mine. I haven't found any other potters with the last name Parks, and she used the same blue color in some of her other pieces from the 60s, so I think they actually are from her. They don't look as experimental as some of the other stuff she and Hullow did, but I kind of assumed the same thing as you, about it being an earlier piece. If anyone finds any more info on Parks, I would be really interested. I know she died in 1999 and owned Hickory Parks Studio on her farm in Pennsylvania, but that is about it.

Oh, cool, I see the articles you posted now! Wow, eye4beauty, you should be a detective. The article describes aqua, rust, and grayish enamel finishes, which are the colors of the pieces I found...
    35. nldionne nldionne, 12 years ago
Hi vintagerobot. Did you check out the links we have on this post. Eye and I have really searched they are pretty elusive. There is a newspaper article from 1969 and a link to another piece on etsy that talks a little about Parks, mostly Hullow. Since we were researching Hullow there isn't much about Parks posted.

      Good luck!

I'll be in LA on Saturday, I'm tempted to go check out the Hullow piece at the county art museum... I wonder if they allow photography?
    39. nldionne nldionne, 12 years ago
Don't know, shot them an email with pics for info a few days ago no word yet.
    40. nldionne nldionne, 12 years ago
Talked (online) to person who posted piece on #19 link. Sent signature. Verified this is one of his pieces. Eye did it!

Actually I do like pottery, how did you know? I have a small collection. Actually I picked up about 35 or so new pieces this weekend. A guy at the auction is on board of directors for Roseville museum and invited us to grand opening. You know you have it bad when that happens. Probably wants us to donate:)
    46. nldionne nldionne, 12 years ago
