I picked this up the other day. It's very large. what kind of bulbs does it use? they look like they are small. i hope that they are still available. the brass work is very nicely done and it's in overall excellent shape. it stands about 35" tall. Does anyone know anything about it - can it be used? when was it made? is it valuable? thanks!
It is possible it's E12 12 mm Candelabra Edison Screw (CES)
AKA Candelabra base, they are still available
Slide one of the white sleeves off & measure the outside of the socket & see if it is slightly over 12 mm ( 1/2" )
thank you very much walksoftly and phild...! if i hung this in my tiny abode, i'd poke my eyes out within 24 hours!
You're most welcome.
If you can't hang it in your house, steampunk it into a fountain for the nursery.
thanks walksoftly. it doesn't quite inspire me in that way, but maybe someone else can use it.
Did you measure the bulb socket?
it looks to be around 16-18 mm. ??
Must be Intermediate E17 17mm
Like the E12 candelabra, these also come in the elongated style bulb.
