Large Hadeland 50's Platter (Greenland Series) by Arne Jon Jutrem

This Hadeland Platter should have a smaller bowl to go with it! It was sold as Greenland series by the Norwegian firm Hadeland. The series won a gold medal at the "Triennale di Milano" in 1954. The striking feature is the random bubbles in the emerald green glass. Jutrem is one of the famous names of Norwegian glass making, a painter, designer and Professor of Aesthetics.

Now, not that I had even heard of Hadeland before finding this platter! I had the most lucky few days last week with my glass findings!! Apart from my Lalique perfume bottle, I bought a large box of approx 20 glass items at an auction. In the bottom of the box was this platter, because all of the other glass was sat on top of it, nobody had tried to retrieve it for fear of breaking pieces. I also have another piece of glass from this box which is also very good, I will post that one next! So, someone was smiling on me last week and I have been fortunate enough to find some excellent glass for very little outlay - just the way we all like it!!!! LOL!!
