I have posted my genie lamps here before because I was interested in learning more about them. I love them and as soon as I saw them at an estate year last year they immediately called my name.
I believe they are made from plaster, but there are no markings on them - there is a piece of felt that I have not moved so there may be something under there, but......
So...I have reengaged in my quest to know more about them. I would like to donate them to a local charity auction for a child with nueroblastoma, but simply don't know where to start. The woman I bought them from said her sister brought them back from Europe in the late 40's or very early 50's. They work great and are just so unique looking - can you help me?
I have genie lamp that I inherited from an aunt. It was always, beginning in the late 40s/early 50s, in her house in a hallway. It is red and black with gold accents but also had a round glass ashtray (about 3") in his lap. No idea of value but he has lived with me since the 70s.
