This finely detailed/painted figurine has markings that I have never been able to decipher. I suspect that it is Japanese from the dress/appearance of the fisherman. It is not made of Ivory; probably some early resin and measures 11" tall including the stand. I hope my photos of the two sets of marks will be clear enough to assist in the identification. Thanks everyone! RER (BOB) LOUMANAL

Thank you jwendell222! Very interesting so Chinese they are.. I knew that they could not be very old since they were not Ivory. Did you ever find out what the marks said? I showed them to some younger Chinese friends and they had suggested that it was Japanese and that they couldn't decipher the marks. Thanks to nldionne for the love! RER (BOB)
