I have this old ball , need help in ID'ing. It has a number of signatures, one I am showing is most clear. Looks to have been slightly coated at one time. It has on Johnny O???. The green stamp ahs something cork center. Pat made in US. Any idea sports buffs?? Thanks, Dave
Is there a patent number? It is a littly blurry, does it seem to say Johnny O'd___?
Johnny Od?? I think the shield has Reach name inside shield. Hard to read rest I did find made in the USa not Us, A was faded. Total of 8 signatures. Thanks, Dave
Johnny O'd....then the rest of the last name is unreadable, is what I meant. I cant read it clearly.
This is a little more about Reach baseballs:
The American League, formally the American League of Professional Baseball Clubs combined with the National league in 1901 to form Major League baseball. Alfred James Reach, owner of The Reach sporting Goods company, sold his company to Spalding in 1889. Spalding continued to use the Reach label produced American League baseballs beginning in 1901. American League baseballs with the Reach Trademark had Red & Blue stitching, and the National League Spalding Trademark baseballs had Black & Red stitching up until about 1934/35 when in both league started using only red stitching. So the oldest your ball could be is from 1934 or 35. The players that played during that time, assuming it is a major leaguer on the ball, that had "O'd" in their last name are: Ken O'Dea, and Lefty O'Doul...It could be much later, I was unable to find when they stopped using Reach baseballs.

I think your on to something VikingFan82, I look at a Tops card from later yrs. The first name signature was John but the style of the J was same. Looks like a early ball. This looks like Johnny O'dono. maybe he signed that way early on?? I read he has a issue with signing balls, he was called the "Chief Kid Shooer" back in 69. Thanks, Dave
