This looks like it has some age to it. Has a very small mark. Feels hand turned and is hand painted. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks Bellin 3.99 at grandmas country attic. The glaze looks old. Also picked up something that reminds me of you. Will post.
Thanks Epson.
Thanks Mustang
Thanks for looking Tony.
Did you read on my hullow vase where I've been talking to the person who posted the seashell looking thing. She has a file on him and actually interviewed his ex girlfriend and another potter that worked with him. Should have asked if it was the little guy in the article. She said he had mental problems.
Tried, light in my house sucks so will have to do it in the morning.
At least you're not bottle feeding a 5 day old kitten:)
As good as it gets
No thank you.
More like a butterfly.
I will look for the makers mark for you. We found our cat at a Lowes hardware store. They figure his mum was moving the kittens and he go trapped under an empty box. His eyes had just opened and was bottle fed by me, and he turns 14 next month. We called him Gadget.
He's an orange tabby, but no white like your cat in the pic.
Thanks mary mine is either 6 or 7 days old. He/she is a handful. I don't tjink people realize how much work it is.
My orange big cat is about 10 yrs.
I appreciate any help. I feel guilty when I take up all of Eye's time.
Have I told you today that you are WONDERFUL!
I have been looking all morning and can't even find anything with similar shape. I don't know about this one buddy. I think Mary has access to site that we don't. The glaze has that fine crackly look that comes with old age. I see it every morning when I look in the mirror:)
Oh Eye what shall I do with you?
It is fun isn't it? Definately makes the old brain go places it hasn't been for a while:)
Thanks Walksoftly!
And it loves you:)
Another 1616 images and nothing similar no mark, no fuschia, not even shape. This one will remain a mystery Eye.
No looks more like a butterfly. Will try to get better shot
capidawhat???? How do you like my drawing:) mark is so small it will not focus,
Looks kind of like that but is impressed so hard to say but don't think so. Good try though.
Thanks Brat and Geno
Does not exist except on my coffee table.
You are the best CW detective I know but I don't think it's out there my dear.
You are right. I have been at it all day since about 5 this morning. Gonna take a breather and jump back in:)
Hope it gets better sweetie
Me too my virtual friend.
Did you see Genos comment on our Hullow?
Didn't find anything like the mark on marks4 ceramics website. I looked at fleur de lid, insects , birds, nothing. The capidimonte mark looks similar, but the piece looks nothing like their style. Will keep looking! Good luck with your kitty!
Found this insect like early mark, stamped, not impressed, but still researching...
MATSUMURA KOSHITSU TOKI KAISHA - IRONSTONE CHINA - KOKURA WARE (Nagoya, Japan) - ca 1920s - 1930s
Thanks do much thanks
I know , it's driving me crazy. Have been through Kovels, oldandsold so far on their marks and haven't seen a thing. Still can't find a vase shaped like this anywhere. I got us a good one this time didn't I?
That sounds good to me. I know it is hand turned I can feel the finger waves (for lack of better term) when I run my hand down it.
Well my image search on yahoo for tall cylinder vase with cupped lid failed:)
Lip not lid:)
Look at you! Now of we can find one with a little short neck we'll be getting close.
And #2?
So there is no #2?
Sorry I must be slow, don't get it. I want to laugh too!!!!
I guess I'll never know the secret since the second rule would tell me everything?
Thanks. I think the second rule is never give up but I really think this one we will never figure out. Not going negative on you just saying:)
Do not apologize as always you have gone above and beyond. I appreciate it. Maybe I'll pick it back up on the future. This is an interesting mark though:)
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!
When I saw it, I also thought to may be a stylized eagle mark, similar to old German marks, but haven't found anything close to it which is impressed. Still looking though, haven't given up. The closest was the old stamped Matsumura mark, but couldn't copy it as it was in my members area of marks4ceramics

See if this works
Thanks Mary for the help. This takes me to a login screen,

Miss you
What happened to the link someone had posted with the vase photos? Anyway they showed a rouleau type vase, and when I researched it further that shape appears to be more Chinese in origin. I looked at Japanese marks on Gotheborg before but maybe we should look at Chinese?
Eye4beauty has left CW. All of his comments are gone. I am so sad to see him go.
I have been looking on that site too but at Japanese. Will look at Chinese for a while. This one us tough.

Sent mark to this site hopefully they will get back to me with something.
Is not mark proper maybe production related.
I have been told that this is probably a western piece, no fuschia in Japan or china.
very interesting story. what is the third picture?
I had a hard time with photo of mark so drew it. As you can see my drawing skills are about as good as photo skills:)
excuse my thought, but did not the japanese export to western for sale? So fuschia was added to sell to western market?
Excellent thought. This has been a tough one to identify. Thanks for the input.
Are you new to CW Russ? If so welcome!!!
thanks. sorry i don't know this, just saw the third picture and wondered why it was a drawing
Thanks Vetraio
