Beautiful tile from a gifted designer.

Koos van der Sluys was born in Utrecht in 1920. He also died in 2005 in Utrecht. Van der Sluys was a graphic artist and designer, trained at the National Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam. After completing this training in 1945, he started at the Westraven pottery factory in Utrecht. There he was appointed head and designer of the relief tiles department. At that time he signed with the pseudonym Jac. Lovades.
