I have this old crown royal lyme bottle and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. On the front it has a picture of a crown and the word royal under it, I cant seem to find this bottle anywhere on the internet so any info would be helpful. It also says made in England on the bottom.. It measures 5" tall by 2 1/2" wide. Thank you...

I have one looks just like yours (the crown is a little more beat up on mine), but mine is approx. 13" tall and 6 1/2" wide. I was looking for info too when I stumbled on this site. Now I guess there are at least two people looking for some help.

It is a Royall Lyme cologne bottle made by Royall Lyme of Bermuda since 1957. If you have the larger store display size (13") in very good condition, I would be interested in finding out more details about the bottle. Contact at aardvarks@optonline.net in New Jersey, USA.

I also have the large store display bottle. Is anyone aware of the value?
    8. AARDVARKS, 8 years ago
The value would be dependent upon the bottle's condition. Does the bottle have any chips or cracks? Is the bottle top (stopper) complete with metal crown and full cork sealer? What are the actual dimensions of the bottle? Are there any air bubbles in the glass itself? All these questions need to be answered for a value to be given to the bottle. Contact me for additional information (aardvarks "at" optonline.net)

Hi. I.ve been identifying and coming up with approx prices for my dad.s antique bottle collection. I came across 2 of these bottles and was thrown for a loop. The bottles appear old - Blown In Mold - side mold seams - multiple bubbles in glass - tooled applied lips. But I can find no references to the company before 1957.
So I go to the Royall Lyme website. They describe the bottles perfectly. Apparently the Company was started ub 1957 in Bermuda by Anthony Gaade, They use the old technique of blowing the glass into clay molds that was the way bottles were made from 1860s - 1900s. These are not old bottles, just bottles made the old fashion way.
I.m seeing prices of $6.50 (without stopper) - $17 (with the crown stopper). I don't know if the pple selling these know if they are not antiques.
These bottles are a great example of how even a seasoned antique bottle collector like my dad could get fooled.
      Company is still in biz.

The company in Bermuda told me they didn't make anything with made in England on the bottom.

I have one of the smaller sizes except mine has a lead crown cap that screws onto the bottleneck. Some of the original seal is even visible inside of the cap. (no cracks or chips either, let alone dings in the lead)
