A friend of mine inherited this screen from his parents. They purchased it while traveling and had authentication papers that have been lost since their death. It is black lacquer and painted on back ground as well as the flowers on the back side of the four panels. The ladies and their garments are made of cut pieces of jade and other stones which are over laid to give a three dimensional effect. He would like to know how to find the history of this family heirloom. It is a full size screen over 6' high and each panel is approximately 18" wide. I failed to measure when pictures were taken. Any information or knowledge of someone that can answer is questions would be appreciated.
The screen is Chinese and it was made in China around the 1930's-1970's usually made for export. Most are made with Mother of Pearl, Jade and other gemstones. All hand carved and inlaid ect. Very nice share! The more intricate in detail of course the more expensive....memories :)
That is a beautiful piece I love it . Stunning !
