Another goodie from my mother's pantry. I am calling it Danish because she loved all things Danish - but maybe it is from another Scandanavian country. It has beautiful lines - like a swirl - very fluid. There is a signature in the middle, but not only do I not know who it is - I find I can't really make it out. Can anyone help. Who made this beautiful piece of glass?

Not bad - for all I know maybe it was just someone doodling on the plate with one of those diamond etching pens......

Val St-Lambert is a glassworks company in Belgium.

Thank you tammyleclaire. I have looked at the replacements and cannot find anything like this plate. Since RussTenale says your grandmother had the exact I wonder if you have any idea how old this is - did Gran have it a long time or was it a new acquisition?

I think if you google or maybe check ebay for "val st lambert swirl" you shall find it. There was a bowl in the center.

There is one on ebay , val st lambert Trefoil platter and bowl set, maybe is the same?

Thanks so much Russ! Yes indeed that is it! - although I only have the plate and not the bowl. I thought mine was newer as it does not have a scratch on it (except of course for the signature!). Thanks for helping me solve the mystery!

Found it on Replacements.com - out of stock but it is called Romy (Giftware) by Val St. Lambert and was produced between 1961 and 1972. Bowl sold separately but can coordinate with the plate (it is listed as a 13" sandwich plate).
