Large Ernst Steinwald and Co.

When I started collecting Czech glass one of the classic ESC patterns was the "flame pattern". Years later we are seeing the Czech "Bambus" sticker on some of the vases. The Bambus (Bamboo) has an embossed design that identifies the decor so we know they are related. Whether the company of manufacturer, exporter or importer marketed these as cased glass with bamboo decor is beyond me, but the name fits. Here are a few rare ones that I am showing to better appreciate the size. The red and yellow are 14 1/2" (37cm) while the blue one is 16". I'm showing little Union holding the vase so you can get an idea of the size. The last picture shows the colors that I have seen, although there are about 12 distinct flame colors I suspect (in this large format) only the green is missing.
