    Hi All,
This one is weird! Cute but weird! Its is a painted carved wood man hollowed out and inside is a clear bottle. His head comes off and inside his head is a cork. He is about 9.5". Underneath him is a brass wind up thingy and a brass knob. I beleive he plays the little brown jug. (that is what the label on the bottom of his right boot says) he still works. it looks like at one point there may have been a label or something on the bottom of his left boot but it is no longer there. There are no other markings that I can find. Any info would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    LS :)

Looks to a German Black Forest carving of a Monk. Monk items were big in the early 20th century Germany. Maybe from 40's-50's. Little Brown Jug song goes way nback to 1869. Around 1930-40's Little Brown Jug was a big hit on the Big Band Scene. That would be my guess.
